So excited to finally announce that I got my first real job last month as the official Graphic Artist for GIRL SCOUT, the new production tag team of two of the raddest girls alive: actress/writer Saab Magalona and Mei Bastes, event organizer/mastermind behind Meiday and Dope MNL! I’ve been a follower of Saab’s blog for a long time and I heard a lot about Mei’s legendary gig series, so obviously I was more than eager to meet up with them and start designing their visuals!
Girl Scout is an event and concert series aimed at showcasing the diversity and wealth of talent within the OPM (Original Pilipino Music) scene by staging gigs that mix and match combinations of established, popular bands, personal favorites, and new discoveries. I’m a bit ashamed to admit that I haven’t really gotten around to delving into all the great music local bands come up with, but that being said, I’ve got all the more reason to go to these gigs and see what the local music scene is all about, starting with gig number one, BOOT CAMP!
