All sorts of places! Sometimes I’ll be listening to the radio, or watching TV, or at some hip cafe and a really nice song will start playing - I always have my phone ready so I can get the lyrics down and Google the song later. Or when a good album gets referenced in a book or film I like, I make it a point to try to listen to it!
Being a bit of a music snob, I’ve got tons of Top 10/25/100/what-have-you lists of best songs/albums bookmarked; I’m always on the lookout for great new releases so I like to visit music sites and blogs (Spin, Pitchfork, Insound, HotSpotMusic, Unrequired Listening, and FreeIndie to name a few) for samples and reviews. And when I’m too lazy to hunt for good music, I listen to mixtapes on 8tracks.
My dad has really good taste in music and I won’t say I’ve never nicked tracks from his iTunes library haha!
